THE BACKSTORY

Do Changes to D365 Customer Insights – Journeys Catch You by Surprise?

Back when I first embarked on my D365 Customer Insights – Journeys adventure (or D365 for Marketing, as it was known then), I often felt like I was navigating a fog. Staying up-to-date with Dynamics 365 Customer Insights – Journeys can be difficult but is critical for every organization. Here is a cheat sheet for finding information.

MONTHLY UPDATES

If your environment is configured properly, Microsoft will automatically update your application on a monthly, even bi-monthly basis, but what changed? View changes made in each update here.

BI-ANNUAL RELEASE WAVES

Microsoft announces two major releases each year as Wave 1 and Wave 2. I’ve found the following three items CRITICAL to reading these plans:

1. Regardless of the date published, a feature is not available until a green checkmark is displayed

No alternative text description for this image
2. Best practice is to NOT use a new feature in your production environment until it has been released for General Availability because it will not be supported by Microsoft until then.

However, start testing the new feature as early as possible in your non-production environments.

3. Microsoft will update this page frequently. If you see a feature that’s important to you, screenshot the page because it may disappear if Microsoft moves it to a different release.
